Old Salt Get involved
Crowdfunding
We, Heiko and Kai, bought the Old Salt 2011 from the customs authority. The once proud sailing ship laid "on the chain", confiscated as it served as a smuggling vessel for
international drug traffickers. The machine was broken, the sails tattered, the upholstery torn. Now we want to let the ship shine again in the old glory, because it was
once a beautiful ocean yacht.

The plan is to make the Old Salt seaworthy again and sail with her to her old homeland Tasmania.
A good deal of the way is already done: we have exchanged the engine, as well as cloth and rigging. The hull was welded and completely reworked. What is left to do:
- In contrast to the outer shell, there is still a lot to be done in the interiors. Bathrooms, cabins and the salon must be completely renovated. The interior walls must be carefully renewed, whereby we want to preserve the original equipment as far as possible.
- The supply lines are all in deplorable condition. The wiring, water and sewage pipes on the whole ship have to be renewed.
- The fuel tank was used by the smugglers for hashish transport, as fuel tank in turn served the space between the inner and outer hull shell. Now the ex-drug bunker in diesel water and pollution tanks must be reworked. The insulation of the hull must be renewed as well.
- Deck and floor coverings must also be renewed. The ultimate goal and dream is a teak deck.
To realize this plan, we launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.
In order for this ship to shine back to its former glory, a lot of money is needed besides a lot of work. If you share our dream, then watch our campaign:https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/new-glory-for-old-salt

Are you looking for a representative advertising space?
heir advertising could stand on this ship: 220 square meters of sail area and a hull of almost 20 meters in length provide ample space for a real eye-catcher.
